Who can be a member?

ClimbEUR is a club for the personnel of the European Institutions, their family members and friends. Beginners are welcome.

Membership fee

The current annual fee is 15 or 6 if you are stagiaire (<=5 months) in the institutions. New members joining after 1st September also pay 6 for the remainder of the calendar year.

The advantages of membership

We organise regular activities both indoors and outdoors. See also our programme of outdoor trips for the current year. As a member you will receive all necessary info by e-mail.

The club owns a selection of climbing equipment (ropes, quickdraws, nuts, friends, even a bouldering mat) that is available for use outdoors and can be borrowed by club members. We also have a few guidebooks, mainly to local crags. The latest gear list can be found on the outdoors page.

The club organises both indoor and outdoor training course with qualified instructors - club members can participate at a subsidised rate.

What membership doesn't provide

To take part in any climbing activity (outdoors or indoors) it is recommended, if not compulsory, to be adequately insured both for third party cover ("responsibilité civile") and injury / rescue in the event of an accident.

Most Belgian crags are privately owned. The Belgian Alpine Club (CAB) and the Flemish version Klimenbergsportfederatie have the right to access and equip them. To climb on these crags you need to be a member either of the CAB/KBSF, or a club with reciprocal rights (i.e. UIAA affiliation). You may be required to show your membership card at these crags. CAB membership also comes with automatic insurance cover.

How to join?

Just fill out and return the membership form (if you prefer to fill out the form electronically, a Word version can be obtained from the President)
